Project menus are not displaying in mobile app
Project menus are not displaying in mobile app
All the projects display correctly, but clicking on any project brings up its name, icon, and a blank area below where I believe the menu options should be.
Checking the web server logs shows an API request was made successfully, and no errors.
I'm looking forward to using this app once we can iron out this wrinkle.

Wow that's strange. Haven't seen that one before. Just to double check, are you using a user that has access to things like discussions, tickets, etc.? Depending on a user's permissions, it will show or not show discussions, time, tasks, etc. and it looks like there may be no access allowed just from the initial glance of it.
Go to the project in aC and check under the "People" tab and make sure the user you are logged in as under the iphone app has the right permissions. That's the first thing I would troubleshoot.

The user has Project Manager-level access, and they are the Leader for that particular project. They have full access to the project. We don't have the Time Tracking module installed, but all other options are display on the website and accessible inside that project. Just for clarification, this happens for all projects using the iPhone app, not just the "Windows 7 Testing" project.
One thing I noticed was the user API's are set to "Status: Enabled, read-only". Would this need to be set to read-write? (If so, the inevitable follow-up is "how?")

Ah it sounds like the API only has Read access, and currently the app supports only Read-Write. Here's the link to how to enable Read/Write access for activeCollab:

Thanks for the information.
I made that change and confirmed it on the user's profile. However, the menu display problem persists.
I'm running the app on IOS 4.0 on an iPhone 4G, if that is useful information.

Man that stinks. Sorry for the problems. Is it possible for you to create a user for me and assign me to a test or blank project so I can see what's going on? If you can see the list of projects in the app then it's not an authentication problem...still sounds like a permission problem to me.

Working over email with Rick, we discovered that ActiveCollab was sending invalid XML to Coolab. Apparently module names were changed in a recent version of ActiveCollab from "milestone" to "Milestones", or "timerecord" to "Time Records",etc, and the different names (and the inclusion of spaces) caused issues.
Long story short, this app works great, and Rick went way beyond the call of duty to get things working right for me. Hopefully ActiveCollab will fix this bug in their next point release.

There is another user that was affected by the same issue. Did activeCollab ever tell you why it was happening? Was it the 3rd party module?

I've got e same issue. I'm running ac 2.3.2 corporate with the mod rewrite functions enabled which removes the index.php and makes the paths people friendly.
Also I've got reporting module 1.7 and planning module 1.41 installed both created by apps magnet
I can't see anything other then the project names.

The appmagnet modules break the activecollab api feed (they have errors in their feed). I've had several others report this and after helping them I've figured out that's what is happening. Every time the user disables the appmagnet modules, the Coolab app will work.
Unfortunately, it's not something I can control. :-(
I'll send an email to app magnet again referencing this forum post but it would be helpful if you report it to them as well.
Did you get your activeCollab install from the demo activeCollab allows you to setup?

We did install from the demo account's database dump. Ive posted it to apps magnet. Getting more people to tag it will get it fixed faster.

There was another issue reported that was caused to a corrupt activeCollab install because it was migrated from the demo. I never heard back from the user but that was the root cause we discovered.

We exchanged a few emails and they mentioned they were looking in to it but nothing more than that.
